I was born and raised in a small California Beach Town called Del Mar dreaming about Thoroughbred Race Horses and Hollywood. In high school I lettered in rodeo and lived the beach life of a surfer girl.
After high school I moved to Hollywood to chase my dreams. After missing a Star Trek movie audition I settled into the life of a B movie extra. My credits include A Fine Mess with Ted Danson and Howie Mandel, The Best Of Times with Robin Williams and Kurt Russell, Stuntman with Peter OToole and Blood Beach with no one famous in it. I even landed some small screen time on the 1980s hit TV show Moonlighting where I had the pleasure of being accidentally goosed by Bruce Willis during a scene. When my mother realized I was loosing weight due to lack of money my acting career ended and my radio career was born. Actually, my mother stopped paying my rent so I had to come home.
The first radio station I work at was country station KSON in San Diego. At the time I knew nothing about country music but after a year or two I grew to love not only the music but the life style. Since then I have worked at country stations KBUL in Reno, Nevada and Denvers KYGO and KIMN. I even had a morning show for a year at KHAY in El Paso, Texas.
In 1997 I moved to Tampa with my ten year old son to be the mid-day air talent for Q105 Country. After five years at Q105 Country I switched to WYUU 92.5 Country and stayed there when it was renamed Outlaw.
In 2005 I retired full time from radio to learn Nursing. I am currently studying to become an LPN. I specialize in long term care of the elderly.
Since retiring full time from radioI have worked part time on WRBQ with Mason Dixon and in 2007 I was invited to work weekends for WQYK. This is a dream come true for me. I love WQYK and the entire staff. I am proud to be a part of this great radio station.
Currently I am married, which is a blessing after being single most my life, and have three children all in all in college. I live in Tarpon Springs with my very generous and understanding husband. I say generous because he encourages and supports my seven day a week work schedule, not to mention funding my trips every six months to Hollywood to take screen writing seminars.
I still dream of a Hollywood career as a writer/director and may someday runaway again to Hollywood. Until then I am your Nurse at night on WQYK.
